The story of Go Garage

Enthusiasts First

Solving our life's car problems

My name is Mark and I am the founder of Go Garage.

Growing up in Hong Kong, my father and uncle were major influences on my appreciation for all types of cars.

We all have "our" car, and for me this was the Lancer Evolution. How it drives, how it sounds, its appearances in the Hong Kong-Beijing Rallies and the local movie scene.

As life happens though, we need different cars to fulfil different purposes in life, both recreationally and practically.

I felt that the Australian market lacked the variety of JDM dealers that could help find the car for a particular interest, most were very focused on bringing the 90s legends, when Japan has so much more to offer, particularly today.

That is how Go Garage was born!

Go Garage was founded

Mark and Jerry begin Go Garage, a car dealership focused on serving the needs of JDM enthusiasts across the broad spectrum of needs and wants, not just performance and novelty.

Go Garage's first customer

Our first customer before we had a showroom. Go Garage started without physical inventory, it was import brokering first.

This was a JDM Rover Mini in a deep blue, with a 1.3L engine with plenty of aftermarket goodies for the character it deserved.

Securing our showroom

Our current location is our first location - Unit 10/120 Hume Hwy, Chullora.

With plenty of office space in the mezzanine and ample (so we thought then) space below, it is a great location that also allows for plenty of parking from customers and friends outside.

Doing our 1st anniversary meet

We celebrated our first anniversary after the initial COVID lockdown in a way that Mark knows best: hero-ing the Lancer Evolution.

Ripping TEC

We put the FD2R Mugen RR through its paces on a cold windy night at Sydney Motorsport Park - one of the few RRs that have actually seen track time.

We're for collectors, and for drivers - so we put the collector car out on track and bounced it off the limiter a couple times, for the culture.

Showroom upgrades

Supply needed to keep up with increasing demand, so we closed our showroom for a couple of months and added two mezzanine levels complete with a vehicle lift.

Business at WTAC

The biggest event in our calendar each year, 2023 was the first time we entered as a vendor at WTAC.

To be part of the country's highest profile industry event was a major milestone for us. No small investment of time, energy and resource!

Five years in business

We've been hosting anniversaries annually to bring the community together at our complex.

Five years means five years staying in business, and that is not a small accomplishment to us!

Each year the community shows up and reminds us of the impact we can have on helping others attain their dreams.

Our first major sponsorship

We partnered with Session as the title sponsor for their two events in 2025.

This included a car giveaway - where we held a raffle to give one lucky winner a brand new Suzuki Lapin.
